Athletics @ Nye
Physical Education
Nye is very fortunate to have a full-time PE prep teacher, Mrs. Gaylene Davis, who helps students to learn the value of physical activity and exercise for emotional and physical health. Physical education is needed to increase the physical competence, health-related fitness, self-responsibility and enjoyment of physical activity for all students so that the students at Nye can be physically active for a lifetime. PE improves children's muscular strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, body composition and cardiovascular endurance. PE helps develop motor skills, which allow for safe, successful and satisfying participation in physical activities. Nye students utilize physical skills learned to reinforce knowledge learned across academic curriculum areas.
