Birthday Celebrations
In lieu of birthday celebrations in classrooms, the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) and Nye Elementary recommend that parents donate a book to the classroom library, bring class sets of pencils, class sets stickers, class sets of earbuds or other small trinkets (like fidgets) to hand out to the kids. These items may be dropped off at the office and teachers will pick them up for distribution to students at the end of the school day. In addition, teachers will request a pizza party once a month provided by the SDUSD cafeteria for all birthdays. Individual birthday parties should happen outside of school hours. You may contact Mrs. PB or your child's teacher on ClassDojo for class lists to assist you with outside parties. Thank you for your understanding.
